Community Involvement

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church supports NeighbourLink. NeighbourLink Parkland is a Christian resource network and non-profit charity funded by the support of the community – local churches, organizations, and individuals. Through partnerships with community agencies and referral sources, they provide guidance, resources and advocacy to empower and equip vulnerable and marginalized individuals in our community. If you would like more information or feel led to contribute, please visit their website.

Our church also contributes to Friday’s Feast Triregion- a local, volunteer-run organization that focuses on helping to feed individuals who don’t have a shelter. FFT helps people in need by linking community resources (including Parkland Wellness’s new Addiction Recovery Support Program) to help them get back on their feet as well as helping to find places for them to live. There have been catering companies, local churches, and many volunteers that donate their time and food. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has provided some meals to help, funded by Women of Worship, and hope to continue! If you’d like to serve FFT, please consider donating items such as water bottles, soft snacks, and condiments. If you would like to find out more information on how to help, please visit Friday’s Feast Triregion on Facebook.
